Privacy Policy
Updated: August 2, 2026
MechClassroom processes only the data required to operate the learning platform, assess tasks, manage courses, and integrate with learning services.
Data we process
Name, registered-user email, role, account settings, course membership, answers, attempts, progress, scores, and files uploaded as part of tasks. Moodle sign-in may involve an LTI identifier, course name, and technical data required for grade passback.
Guest mode
An anonymous technical account is created for a guest. The name supplied by the guest and learning progress are stored. A guest account does not require an email address.
How data is used
Data is used for authentication, task variant generation, answer checking, progress and score calculation, course operation, statistics for teachers and administrators, and Moodle grade passback when LTI is used.
Custom GPT and API
A Custom GPT connected by a user may access data through the secured API according to that user’s role. Administrators can access system analytics and tasks. Teachers can access only permitted tasks and their own courses. Student analysis may include a student’s name, progress, and scores, but the API does not provide the student’s email. An API token is displayed once, and only its SHA-256 hash is stored in the database.
Third-party services
The platform may use Firebase for sign-in, Moodle for LTI integration, and OpenAI when a user connects a Custom GPT. Data sent to a third-party service at the user’s request is also processed under that service’s privacy policy.
Retention and security
Data is retained as needed to operate accounts, courses, and learning history. Access is restricted through roles, JWTs, or separate API tokens. Data is transmitted over HTTPS.
Your rights
A user may contact the MechClassroom administrator to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data where retention is not required for legitimate or educational obligations.
Policy changes
This policy may be updated as the platform changes. The current version is always published on this page.
